Fläming Skate

With ca. 190 (!) kilometres of track, the Flaeming-Skate is Europe’s longest car-free inline skating path.  It offers amateur skaters, Nordic walkers, cyclists and wheelchair users as well as professional skaters a great opportunity to get out and exercise.  You can hire skates and equipment at various places along the track, or stop off at a friendly pub for a bite to eat.  The track can be easily reached with the shuttle bus service from the airport.  The particularly sporty ones amongst us can, of course, cycle to one of the track’s starting points and explore the path by bike. 

High-wire course 

For those who love the thrill of heights and speed, we can recommend the High-wire course, which is situated along the track.

Potsdam Woodland Climbing Park

Adults and children alike will have fun at the newly opened Kletterwald Potsdam.

Travel by ‘Draisine’ Trolley Car

How about a trip with a ‘draisine’ trolley car or ‘conference’ rail bike?  Click on the Tourismusverbandes Fläming web page and you will be amazed at what is possible.

Nuthe- Nieplitz Nature Park

Our airport is situated in the Nuthe-Nieplitz Nature Park.  It is always worth going for a walk through the Nuthe glacial valley, for example to Blankensee, where you can watch rare animals in the bird sanctuary.  Fish caught in Blankensee Lake are a delicacy, which is freshly cooked for you here.  However, you shouldn’t miss the region’s other culinary delights, for example, have you ever tasted Teltower Rübchen – Teltow turnips?  They’re special baby turnips which only grow in this area.

Potsdam

The palace and lakeside scenery of Brandenburg’s state capital, Potsdam is unique.  Schönhagen is its closest airport.  Our shuttle or car hire service will take you into the heart of this historic city in 25 to 30 minutes.

The Farming Museum in Blankensee is also worth a visit.  Perhaps you would like to visit the Museum Village in Glashütte and have a go at glass blowing for yourself?  You’ll find historical buildings wherever you go in Teltow-Fläming.  A couple of places which are easy to reach from the air field and particularly worth a visit are: Kloster Zinna with its distillery, where you can even drink the ‘friar’!  (‘Klosterbruder’ or ‘Friar’ is the name given to the locally produced sweet herb schnapps.), and the town of Jüterbog, with its numerous medieval buildings, town wall and market square. 

If you are looking for wellness and relaxation after a long (day) trip, you’ll find what you are looking for at the Fläming-Therme spa in Luckenwalde, the Kristalltherme  spa in Ludwigsfelde or at the Steintherme in Belzig.

Do you feel like taking a day trip and are looking for an interesting place to go?  Then come to Schönhagen Airport.  The airport is a popular weekend destination for people from Berlin and Potsdam.  The winding tree-lined roads through the beautiful Fläming countryside make your drive interesting and enjoyable.  You can get suggestions for this and other day trips from the website www.flaeming-ride.de.

Another popular way to start a day trip is by regional train, which will take you from Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Berlin Central Station) to Trebbin in 26 minutes.  You can take your bike with you on the train and then cycle to the airport in around 25 minutes.

Having arrived at the airport, flying enthusiasts can get their kicks with flights in every kind of aircraft, from gliders to helicopters.  Otherwise you can hire a bicycle for a ride through the nature park nearby.  Those interested in history will receive a lot of information about the creation and development of Schönhagen Airport in a guided tour. (Please book in advance.)  Whoever wishes to simply relax can enjoy a coffee or a cool drink on the viewing terrace of the Lindbergh Café and watch the planes take off and land.

We will gladly organize a barbecue evening around a camp fire.  It is possible to stay overnight at the airport in our guest house or in one of the hotels nearby.

Naturpark Nuthe- Nieplitz

Unser Flugplatz liegt im Naturpark Nuthe-Nieplitz. Eine Wanderung durch das Nuthe-Urstromtal lohnt sich immer, zum Beispiel zum Blankensee, wo Sie im Vogelschutzgebiet seltene Tiere beobachten können. Eine Köstlichkeit ist der im Blankensee gefangene Fisch, der hier frisch zubereitet wird. Aber auch andere kulinarische Eindrücke aus der Region sollten Sie nicht verpassen: Was kann man alles aus der Zitrone des Nordens machen - was sind Teltower Rübchen?

Potsdam

Die Schlösser- und Seenlandschaft der Landeshauptstadt Potsdam ist einmalig. Schönhagen ist der am nächsten gelegene Flugplatz. Unser Shutlle- oder Mietwagenservice bringt Sie in 25 bis 30 Minuten in das Herz der historische Stadt.

Berlin

Die Sehenswürdigkeiten und und die kulturelle Vielfalt des Bundeshauptstadt Berlin muß man nicht näher beschreiben. Der Regionalzug bringt Sie in 28 Minuten direkt in das Zentrum zum Hauptbahnhof.

Sonstiges

Auch ein Besuch im Bauernmuseum ist empfehlenswert. Vielleicht besuchen Sie aber auch das Museumsdorf in Glashütte und betätigen sich selbst einmal als Glasbläser?
Historische Bauwerke finden Sie im Landkreis Teltow-Fläming auf Schritt und Tritt. Besonders lohnend und vom Flugplatz gut zu erreichen: Das Kloster Zinna mit seiner Destille, wo man Klosterbrüder auch "trinken" kann, und der Marktplatz der Stadt Jüterbog mit zahlreichen mittelalterlichen Bauwerken.

Wer nach einem langen (Aus-)Flug(s)tag Wellness und Entspannung sucht, findet sie in der Fläming-Therme in Luckenwalde, der Kristalltherme in Ludwigsfelde oder in der Steintherme in Belzig.
